The Way of Tea

Cha Dao “The Way of Tea” 茶道

An ancient Daoist practice to cultivate meditative presence & deep listening – it is a way to make space and allow ourselves to enter into devotion and reverence for the elements and all of life.

Tea is a plant teacher – through her graceful, strong and compassionate way, the medicine of the leaf meets us exactly where we are and gives exactly what is needed.

Following the teachings and guidance of Global Tea Hut, I acknowledge the lineage of those who have walked this path before me and passed on this sacred practice with integrity and respect.

"As the leaves of this tree are,
I too am made of the water, the sky, sun and stars;
I share this essence with all the Ten-thousand Things.
And in so doing, empty myself and my cup.
As tea, I am now free to transcend the moment,
Finding heaven in a leaf."

  • Tea Ceremony & Yagya

    3 Hours | Tea Ceremony, Fire Ritual & Shared Meal
    $35 USD per person

    We begin with a meditative Tea Ceremony, allowing the body and mind to soften into stillness. From this place, we enter into a Yagya — a Vedic fire ritual — burning what no longer serves, and offering prayers and intentions into the flames.

    We will close the gathering by sharing a communal meal, enjoying the offerings each person has brought.

    What to bring:

    A cushion or sheepskin to sit on

    A dish to share with the group

  • “As I entered the tea ceremony space, I felt a palpable sacredness. For many, I perceived the tears that fl owed linked to the essence of the plant. Personally, I really felt this gift that Milène off ered to each of us - through all her gentle, measured, conscious gestures... and undoubtedly more, and only she knows that. It's good to perceive this gift which touched my heart to make tears flow. "
